Muay Thai

Here at The TOUGH Spot we love our Muay Thai (Thai Boxing), our passion for Muay Thai started when we first went to Thailand and spend several weeks at a Muay Thai camp in Phuket. Once we returned we always spoke about starting up Muay Thai classes for the average person, and now you too can enjoy Muay Thai in Brisbane.

Muay Thai is very similiar to Kickboxing, but includes the use of elbows and knees as well, so it's more fun!

The TOUGH Spot has some very attractive memberships available for Muay Thai classes (all fitness levels), starting as low as $24.95 a week for unlimited classes. Just click here to enquire today!

Muay Thai for Fitness

Our Muay Thai for Fitness programs are created to bring Muay Thai to those who love to kick, punch, knee and elbow bags for fitness. This class is not for fighters, although it is a great class to get started with Muay Thai and progress into our regular Muay Thai classes. In our classes you can expect to do a combination of punches, knees, elbows or kicks, for example; jab, cross, jab, elbow – jab, cross, knee, elbow. We also mix it up with some push ups, games (warm up drills), grappling and other techniques related to Muay Thai.

Muay Thai

Our regular Muay Thai classes are tailored for those who want to take things a step further than Muay Thai for Fitness and focus more on technique, stance, punch, grappling and a bit of sparring. Sparring is optional but everyone who does this class so far has participated, the sparring is not meant to be aggressive or knock someone out, it's about control, defence and showing off your technique.

Most of us trainers at The TOUGH Spot have been to Thailand for Muay Thai training and absolutely love it. At The TOUGH Spot we try to create as much of the relaxed athmosphere that you experience in Thailand when doing Thai Boxing. When you sign up for a membership you can attend unlimited classes, so why not stay back and do a Caveman Training workout before your Muay Thai class, or after.! Feel free to relax at our outside area (little stairs going down in The Cave underneath The Lookout), come back in when you're ready to catch the next class.

Muay Thai for Fitness and Muay Thai for Fighting

We separate our classes into Muay Thai for Fitness and Muay Thai for Fighting, although none are really aimed at those who make a career out of fighting (professional fighters). We have deliberately chosen to provide a service that is different from the rest and target people that just want to kick, hit and elbow for fun and fitness, and secondly a class that is more aimed towards taking the Muay Thai training a step further and also include a bit of controlled sparring.
